Annie Finch

Award-winning poet and writer Annie Finch is the author of seven volumes of poetry, including Spells, The Poetry Witch Little Book of Spells and the epic poem on abortion, Among the Goddesses. Other works include verse drama, collaborations, anthologies including Villanelles and Choice Words: Writers on Abortion, and the writing guide A Poet's Craft. Finch's poems have appeared onstage at Carnegie Hall and in Poetry, The Paris Review, The New York Times, and The Penguin Book of Twentieth-Century American Poetry.

Finch earned her Ph.D from Stanford and has lectured at Berkeley, Harvard, and Oxford. She is the Founding Director of Poetry Witch Community, where she teaches poetry, meter, scansion, and The Magic of Rhythmically Writing.
