Adania Shibli is een Palestijnse auteur geboren in Palestina in 1974. Ze heeft meerdere romans geschreven waarvan de laatste, Een Klein Detail, in 2021 werd genomineerd voor de International Booker Prize. Shibli reist heen en weer tussen Berlijn en Jerusalem, waar ze naast romans ook toneelstukken, korte verhalen en verhalende essays schrijft. Ze is twee keer bekroond met de Young Writer’s Award van de A. M. Qattan Foundation. Haar andere romans zijn Masaas (vertaald in het Engels als Touch) en Kulluna Ba’id bethat al Miqdar aan el-Hub (vertaald in het Engels als We Are All Equally Far from Love).
